Mikel Landa will lead Team Sky at the Giro d’Italia, with the likes of Leopold Konig, Sergio Henao and Beñat Intxausti joining him in the squad Team Sky on stage one of the 2015 Giro d’Italia It’s been a very busy day for Team Sky , what with a media day, Chris Froome announcing his contract extension and now the revelation of their squad for the Giro d’Italia.
As expected, new signing Mikel Landa – third in the Giro last season – will head up the team in the general classification hunt, and he’ll have some decent talent alongside him.
Sky announced 10 riders in the expected squad, which will be trimmed down to nine by the time the race comes around in May.
Fellow new signing Beñat Intxausti returns to the race having won a stage in 2015 while in Movistar colours, while Leopold Konig rides the Italian race for the second year running.
Sergio and Sebastian Henao may line up together, while world time trial champion Vasil Kiryienka will look to add to his stage win from last season.
Also in the squad are Ian Boswell, David Lopez, Christian Knees and Elia Viviani, who wore the sprinter’s red jersey for 10 days […]
