GoPro introduces live-streaming through Periscope

Want to broadcast your argument with an irrate motorist so the whole world can watch it live? Well, if you own an iPhone and a GoPro Hero4 action camera then this dream can now be a reality.

The only additional software that you’ll need is Periscope, the Twitter-owned live-streaming app, which can be downloaded for free from the App Store. From there, all you need to do is connect your phone to the GoPro’s own WiFi network, and press the broadcast button in the app, which will share your footage for the whole world to see.

Doing this doesn’t affect the rest of the GoPro’s operation, so it will still record all the footage you film to the Micro SD card in the camera itself.

The question we’d like to ask is whether this could bring us a step closer to having on-bike footage streamed live from races. So far we’ve seen a little live on-bike footage from the Track World Championship , created using Shimano cameras, however […]
